This U.S. Flag site and Flag Steward experience is dedicated to this inspirational Patriot:
U.S. Marine Lance Corporal (LCpl)
​Michael A. Downey of Phoenix, AZ
Served in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)
Killed November 19, 2004, by enemy sniper fire, in Anbar province, Iraq  

​His mother, Lauren Eiler, said this about him, 
“Michael had a keen intelligent mind and a wicked sense of humor, and he loved being a Marine. He was proud of protecting our freedoms and way of life.”
