US Marine Corps Corporal
Max W. Donahue of Highlands Ranch, CO
[ Third Highlands Ranch citizen killed in the Global War on Terror ]

[ Cpl Donahue, a Military Police K9 specialist, with Fenji at Marine base in Hawaii ]

Cpl Donahue, 23, served as part of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF)
with I Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force deployed from Camp Pendleton, CA 
KIA / Died August 7, 2010, from wounds suffered from an IED explosion on August 4, while supporting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan

We honor and thank US Marine Corporal Donahue for defending our freedoms and fighting to liberate the lives of others

Inspirational Quotes about Max Donahue:
His dad said, "He (Max) hated bullies. If you were a little kid you wanted to be around Max. If you were with Max you wouldn't get picked on."
And, his mom stated, "He loved working with the dogs." So, when Max turned down a safer assignment to go to Iraq, he told his mom, "That's what I'm trained to do.  They need me over there and my buddies are over there."  His mom then realized, "he was a Marine man and not my boy."

Patriot Honor Roll
The personal Patriots remembered by this Interactive American Flag include:
U.S. Army Staff Sergeant
​Chris Falkel of Highlands Ranch, CO

Green Beret Staff Sergeant Chris Falkel, 22, served in Operation Enduring Freedome (OEF)  
Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, N.C..  
Killed Aug. 8 by enemy small-arms fire as his unit was conducting combat operations in Deh Afghan, Afghanistan.
Awarded Silver Star for his valorous actions on August 7 & 8, 2005

Vietnam Veteran of Boston, Massachusetts
20 year Army career (1967-1987) in Aviation and Corps of Engineers
Awarded Silver Star, Bronze Star, and 45 Air Medals while serving as scout helicopter pilot ( shot down 3 times ;) in Vietnam
Died December 8, 2008, age 62, of a Vietnam War related illness 
Survived by wife, Ellen Sweeney, two children and three grandchildren
We honor and thank U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Ed Sweeney Jr. for defending our freedoms and fighting to liberate the lives of others.

​Ed Sweeney Jr. inspires us with his leadership - how he looked out for the welfare of his men:
Chief Warrant Officer Frank Glenn, a fellow Vietnam War scout helicopter pilot of Platoon Leader Ed Sweeney, repeated Captain Sweeney's directive to his 9 scout pilots, "Don't be a cowboy, don't take any unnecessary risks, no hot-dogging, and don't get your crew killed.  Your job is to return to base everyday."
