Army Staff Sergeant (SSG) Jordan Bear, 25, served as part of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF)
with 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, NC
KIA March 1, 2012, by enemy small-arms fire while trying to help a wounded teammate - shot by insider insurgents who ambushed his base in Zharay, Kandahar province, Afghanistan
His teammate, Private First Class Payton A. Jones, was also shot and killed
We honor and thank US Army Staff Sergeant Bear for defending our freedoms and fighting to liberate the lives of others

Jordan, I hope you, your wife, Sarah, and your kids, Kailee and Kayden, find this tribute to be fitting of the hero you are. I sincerely appreciate the sacrifice you made for Our Country. And, despite me bleeding black & gold, I'll raise a beer to toast you when the Cornhuskers play the Buffs at CU this fall. ;) I know you'll be watching and cheering on your Big Red. Rest in Peace.
