iHonor GWOT (Global War on Terror) Fallen: U.S. Army Corporal Michael Curtin of South Plains, New Jersey
Corporal Michael Curtin, age 23, served in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) Assigned to 2nd Battaliion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division based out of Fort Stewart, Georgia Killed in Action (KIA) on March 29th in 2003, by suicide car bomb, while standing guard near Najaf, Iraq
We honor and thank U.S. Army Corporal Michael Curtin for defending our freedoms and fighting to liberate the lives of others.
([ image from Fallen Heroes Project artist's work ] Michael Edward Curtin Born on Jan. 27, 1980 in Howell, NJ Grew up in Howell, NJ Oldest of 5 kids, who was quiet, reserved, and enjoyed playing guitar Had an "All-American appeal" and was a team player (football, hockey, baseball) 1998 Graduate of Howell High School Enlisted in US Army in May 2001 Nicknamed "Jersey" by his Army unit known as the "Outlaws" Assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division based out of Fort Stewart, GA Deployed to Kuwait, and then Iraq, as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom on January 25, 2003
